Hello!
My name is Abigail Hoeft, and I’m a 17-year- old follower of Christ who wants to combine her joy of writing with a love of Jesus.
And we will be refined by a holy fire.
“And I will put this third into the fire, and refine them as one refines silver, and test them as gold is tested. They will call upon my name, and I will answer them. I will say, ‘They are my people’; and they will say, ‘The Lord is my God.’”- Zechariah 13:9
Hello!
Welcome to my blog, where I tell you about my journey with the LORD, lessons I learn, and my aspirations to become a missionary. My purpose of this blog is to share my love for God through one of my favorite methods- writing! I also seek to document these next few years, as I go on to discover my purpose and calling.
I hope my writing inspires you to reflect on your own relationship with the LORD, and his will for your life.
Sermon- God as the Father
This year I was given the amazing opportunity to write and preach a sermon to the High Schoolers at my church, Woodridge. I was mentored by my old youth pastor Austin Holmes, who taught me how to craft, write, and present the sermon as well as how to do so in a way that glorifies God throughout the entire process. I believe that this sermon was a reflection of my growth this year, how much I’ve come to understand God’s character, and the renewed love I have for His word. Through every challenge that I faced and every roadblock I encountered while writing this sermon, I encountered God through moments of clarity, encouragement from others, personal discipline, and an overwhelming sense of peace. To be honest, I think I needed to hear this sermon more than anybody else, because even as I was preaching it, I felt God continually revealing to me the immeasurable love He has for me, and what it really means that God is my father.
